COVID and India
"India is having the worst COVID crisis in the world" - let's have a look - statistically. I would try to compare the numbers of India against Germany, UK and US - three of the most developed countries in the world. Looking at the "new cases per day", which is the only info we see every day on the news, it looks really scary... Looks everyone in India is getting COVID. But is it really the case? How many people are dying every day? Like we have seen in the US before, but still a lot... Now, one should remember that India's population is not in millions, but billions. This makes the numbers not directly comparable. So, let's have a look at some real statistics now - comparing India's COVID crisis against US, UK and Germany - but this time with normalised values - how many per million (per 10 lakhs according to the Indian numbering system).
